Terms of Service
Last updated: July 5, 2026
Welcome to PooX. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PooX desktop application ("PooX", "the App", "the Software"). By downloading, installing, or using PooX, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. License
Upon purchase, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use PooX on devices you own or control, for your own personal or professional use.
You may not:
Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App or any purchased build of it
Reverse engineer the App beyond what is permitted by applicable law
Use the App for any unlawful purpose
2. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
PooX is a client application that connects to third-party AI model providers (including but not limited to NVIDIA NIM, OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, OpenRouter, Mistral, Together AI, and Ollama) using API keys and credentials that you provide.
You are solely responsible for obtaining, safeguarding, and complying with the terms of service of any third-party provider you connect to PooX.
PooX does not provide, resell, or guarantee access to any third-party AI model or service.
Any costs, rate limits, outages, or policy changes imposed by third-party providers are outside PooX's control and responsibility.
3. Third-Party Services
PooX may integrate with third-party services for features such as web search and image generation (e.g., Tavily, Jina AI, Hugging Face). Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third party's terms and privacy practices. PooX is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content returned by these services.
4. Payments
PooX is distributed as a one-time paid purchase through third-party platforms (such as Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy). Payment processing is handled entirely by these platforms, and their respective terms and refund policies apply. PooX does not store or process your payment information.
5. No Warranty
PooX is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PooX and its creator(s) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the App — including damages resulting from your use of third-party AI providers or services connected through PooX.
7. User Content and Responsibility
You are solely responsible for any content, code, files, or data you create, edit, or process using PooX, including anything sent to third-party AI providers through your own API keys. PooX does not review, monitor, or control this content.
8. Changes to the App or Terms
We may update PooX and these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to discontinue support for or updates to PooX at any time. These Terms remain in effect for as long as you use the App.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of your jurisdiction of residence, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
11. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent via the Contact link on the PooX website, or email us directly at hello@poox.app.
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PooX ("we", "our", "the App") handles information when you use the App.
1. Summary
PooX is a desktop application that runs locally on your Mac. We designed it to keep your data under your control:
Your API keys and configuration are stored locally on your device (in a local config file), not on our servers.
We do not operate a backend that collects, stores, or transmits your chats, files, or API keys.
Your conversations with AI models are sent directly from your device to the AI provider(s) you configure (e.g., NVIDIA NIM, OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, OpenRouter, Mistral, Together AI, Ollama, or your local Ollama instance), using your own API credentials.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
PooX itself does not collect, log, or transmit:
Your chat messages or conversation history
Files you open, create, or edit within the App
Your API keys or credentials
Personal identifying information
Because PooX does not include analytics or telemetry reporting to us, we have no visibility into how you use the App on your device.
3. Third-Party Services
When you use certain features, PooX connects directly from your device to third-party services using credentials you provide:
AI model providers (e.g., NVIDIA NIM, OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, OpenRouter, Mistral, Together AI, Ollama) — receive the prompts/content you send them, subject to their own privacy policies.
Web search (Tavily API, Jina AI Reader) — receive search queries you initiate.
Image generation (Hugging Face Inference API) — receives prompts you submit for image generation.
These providers process data according to their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We do not control, and are not responsible for, how these third parties handle your data.
4. Local Storage
Configuration data, including API keys, is stored in a local configuration file on your device. This file is not transmitted to us and is excluded from any version control or update mechanism. You are responsible for the security of this file on your own device.
5. Payment Information
If you purchase PooX through a platform such as Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy, your payment information is collected and processed entirely by that platform under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment or billing details.
6. Children's Privacy
PooX is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of PooX after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
8. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please reach out via the Contact link on the PooX website, or email us directly at hello@poox.app.
